Today we played in the Heritage Music Competition at the Royal Academy of Music and crushed. We went to a sweet museum of wax people. There was a Chamber of Horror but I didn't get to see it!! There were lots of interesting shops with many gifts. Some of the stores were a bit repetitive though. There was also some really good ice cream, it was two scoops per cone, at least. I do feel that the museum could have been a little more impressive but that could be because I missed the Chamber of Horrors though. --sam, eric and erik

I imagine I speak for lots of other parents when I say how much fun it has been to follow the CHSO London journey, and how proud we are to have such talented and adventurous sons and daughters. Bravo, everyone, and especially Sam B, my ultra cool, mad violinist son!
I'm pretty sure crushed is good. Sounds like they are having as much fun as we expected.
I'll just bet you "crushed"---congratulations CHSO!! But PLEEZZZZ... more details! How many orchestras competed, and where were they from? Did you go first? What was the Royal Academy of Music like?

I believe the boys mean that we crushed the competition : ) Both CHSO performances were exquisite, in my unbiased opinion! And what an extraordinary experience to perform in Dukes Hall in the Royal Academy of Music. The judges were most impressed; we won every conceivable prize, including Gold ratings for both ensembles, Overall Best Orchestra, and the Sweepstakes trophy for the highest combined point total for any group (band, orchestra, or chorus) for the entire festival. The kids are so happy, and so is their director : )
Bravo, bravo, bravo! Thanks to Laura and all her dedicated musicians. We're thrilled for you (but not surprised)!

Wow, guys!!! We were plenty proud of you before, so imagine how we're bursting our buttons now! Come on home, we miss you and we've got a surplus of hugs and cheering stored up for that great moment when you finally pull into the CHS parking lot. (Bet it feels like months since you were there last!) See what a little (!) practicing, some carwashes, a few pointsettias, a concert here and there, a few benefits, some kind donors, an awesome director -- in other words, all your hard work and all the help and good will you deserve -- can do!
